About this deal

What starts out with Ethan trying to ignore Grey’s presence in his house each week, eventually intensifies. I started this book with a very positive mindset because the tropes sounded amazing: a PR stunt, an age gap… it had all of the elements for me to like it. This strong debut is perfect for readers who enjoy romances with intense feelings, complex issues, and steamy love scenes. What I loved most about this book were the positive female relationships (ex-wife and girlfriend don’t hate each other! With a life-changing role on the line, she's finally desperate enough to agree to her publicist's scheme.

Grey Brooks, fresh off a staring role in a hit teenage soap opera, is struggling to make it to the next level. Addiction, child star molestation, dark side of fame were triggering subjects which were honestly approached but even the execution of fake relationship parts were a little messy!Wilder’s cinematic prose brings Grey and Ethan to life, and she sets their raw, sensitive love story against an alluring portrait of Hollywood glamour. Ava Wilder’s highly anticipated debut novel is a full fledged romance/women’s fiction novel about relationships, love, self doubt, dealing with past traumas and so much more. It was something that I never thought I'd do, or something that I would hold off on for a few years yet. With a life-changing role on the line, she’s finally desperate enough to agree to her publicist’s scheme… faking a love affair with a disgraced Hollywood heartthrob who needs the publicity, but for very different reasons.

How to Fake It In Hollywood was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. After reading the blurb and being enchanted by this fantastic cover, I was so hopeful to read something tempting, entertaining with Hollywood criticism of fake relationship trope! I honestly love character-driven stories because of how we see characters grow and most of the time their journey towards fulfilling their character arcs is really worth the time spent reading. How To Fake It In Hollywood is equal parts steamy, messy, and emotional, with relatable characters that are easy to root for! Ethan was still struggling with his addiction and his confidence, and Grey needed to work through some personal issues as well. But after decades in a ruthless industry that requires bulletproof emotional armor to survive, are they too used to faking it to open themselves up to the real thing? The fan’s eyes looked like they were going to pop out of her head as she nodded, fumbling through her purse for her phone and swiping the camera open. It ended up being a heavier read than I expected, with some deep issues relating to addiction and death coming up for our actors.
