Buying maps on the internet can be frustrating. Small photographs and brief descriptions do not always do justice to the fantastic maps we have. So, I can either:
- send you more detailed photographs and information
- arrange a viewing (this will depend upon your location and value of prospective purchase)
Mounting and/or framing: the maps are sometimes mounted unless delivery necessitates the item being rolled. As for framing, it is normally better that it is done locally and to your own taste.
Shipping: items are sent either rolled in robust cardboard tubes or flat-packed in hard cardboard. All deliveries are insured for their purchase price when sent. If the item does not arrive, you will receive your money back in full. If it arrives damaged, or if you do not like it when it arrives, it can be returned (appropriately packed) and an unconditional refund will be given (see Terms and Conditions)Condition: maps are described using the following convention
(VG) Very Good Condition
Clean and bright, with crisp engraved lines. On sound paper with no imperfections in the image. Occasional small tears or minor discolouration in the margin only. Very good quality colouring.
(G) Good Condition
No significant imperfections. Minor spotting, foxing, short separations on centerfold with no image loss, or overall age toning may be present. May have narrow margins but paper is still sound. Good colouring.
(F) Fair Condition
Noticeable imperfections. Scattered foxing or spotting. Long separations on centerfold or tears entering image which can be easily repaired. Colour may be slightly faded.
Most of my maps and plans are either VG or G
Warranty:
- All maps are genuine antiques not reproductions or reprints. In the event that an item is discovered not to be genuine, a full refund will be given.
- Unless otherwise noted, all maps are over 100 years old
- The descriptions are fair and accurate summaries of the condition of the maps
