The "game" revolves around the ugly secrets of those taking part with Cheryl unfortunately being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know enough not to expect realism from Alexander or from any horror novel written for 8 to 12 year olds. The characters act their age (which sometimes is hard to come by in middle grade/YA fiction) and they're all fairly likeable, save for Meg-A for obvious reasons.
